Joan Emanuelli Sanchez Bio
Joan Emanuelli Sanchez is a contemporary representational artist from San Juan, Puerto Rico, currently residing in Orlando, Florida. His distinctive personal style is driven by passion and emotion, offering diverse perspectives on various subjects through oil paintings. He brings scenic landscapes, interior scenes, portraits, still lifes, and everyday people to life, often revealing a deep contrast of harmonious colors and bold compositions. Through his interpretations, he invites viewers into a visual journey.
Emanuelli began his artistic journey at Crealdé School of Art in Winter Park, Florida, in 2016. He was later awarded a fellowship in the Painting and Drawing Department and, in January 2019, was selected as a studio artist in the same department. In 2020, while in his second year of residency as a studio artist, he started an Associate in Arts with a Pre-Major in Fine Arts at Valencia College, completing it in 2021. While at Valencia, he received the Annita S. Wooten Gallery Drawing Award and won first place in the drawing category in 2020.
The Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens Emerging Artist Program selected him as the inaugural Emerging Artist for the Winter Park Paint Out in 2018. In 2016, he won first place in the Painting & Drawing category at the 35th Juried Student Exhibition at Crealdé School of Art.
He has participated in various exhibitions, including “Tapestry - Americas United” at Banco de Brasil, “Emerge” at the Showalter Hughes Community Gallery, and “Evolving Identities: Keepers of Heritage” at the Albin Polasek Museum and Sculpture Gardens, a collective art show featuring Puerto Rican artists. He was also part of the NOAPS International Exhibition’s Spring Exhibit in 2021. His first solo exhibition took place at the New Concept Gallery in Orlando, FL, and received a great reception from the public in 2021.
Since 2020, he has been involved in the Collective Project Keepers of Heritage, a group of Puerto Rican artists dedicated to promoting Puerto Rican art in Central Florida and beyond. This collaborative project has enabled him to showcase his artwork in various venues, including the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture in Chicago and the Museum of Las Americas in San Juan, Puerto Rico, among others. His spirit and dedication have taken him on an inspiring journey in which he is deeply immersed.
